Donald Sterling and Why I am Saving My Outrage

The hottest news in the NBA right now is not the playoffs. No, it is Donald Sterling, Clippers owner, whose bi-racial girlfriend captures him on tape telling her not to bring African-Americans to his game, including Magic Johnson (I have no clue what that last part is supposed to mean, because Magic Johnson has always been African-American, but okay).

African-American sports fans everywhere are outraged, shocked, horrified (cry me a river). He is an older white man who grew up during Jim Crow...it is not that far fetched that he would say something racist or offensive.

You want to know what I am outraged about? His black coach-Doc Rivers and his black players for the team. Not a one of those mofos have uttered a word, although millions have heard the tape. Your employer has gone on record stating that he doesn't want you at his games, even if you work for him, and you have not one word to say?

Or his bi-racial girlfriend? Where is your self-respect as a woman? Yeah, you gave the tape to TMZ (probably for a pay day, after all she is extremely attractive and young enough to be his daughter, so I am sure she is not with him because she finds him attractive also...you have seen Donald Sterling right?).

Or what about the Clippers' fans? Will your hero worship of sports' stars and love of the game, make you sell your souls for game tickets and Clipper's memorabilia?

 Only time will tell!

Donald Sterling was just being Donald Sterling...no big deal for me...I prefer honest racists, rather than wolves in sheep's clothing.

My bigger issue is the coach, players, the girlfriend, and the fans, who have a responsibility to take a stand...the larger question is...will they?

Until next time......
