I saw a recent Instagram post of Beyonce' and Mama Tina Knowles. They were decked in their Grammy attire, and had their middle fingers up with a "f the haters" message. Now some say it was their way of getting back at the Grammys for snubbing Beyonce' for the best album award. The truth is it may have been about that, or it may have been something totally different. The overall thing is their fingers, their business.
This week, I had a personal situation where I was challenged, and of course, I was expected to take the high road; and I didn't, and I decided to be petty instead.
The very people who elected the orange tyrant who is now acting like a 70 year old toddler, and the very people who consistently disrespected President Obama for eight consecutive years, now want people to take the high roads, and come together in love (rolls eyes).
I for one say, turning the other cheek, being the bigger person is highly overrated, and sometimes you have to let people know, that you are done taking their shit.
As I celebrated my 40th year of life a few months ago, I have been constantly doing self-reflection and trying to look for the lesson or the message in every experience. The lesson that I learned this week, is that sometimes people mistake niceness for weakness, and they will completely get out of control, if you let them continue to use and abuse you. In other words, sometimes you just have to let folks know who you are, and what you will not tolerate. Besides, what good is it in taking the high road and turning the other cheek, when you are miserable because all you wanted to be was petty?
And for those struggling with morality and their moral consciences, remember that even Jesus turned over their tables in the temple when he became angry over the thievery going on, and this same Jesus wants you to have an abundant life.
So take the high road if you truly believe that is what is right, but if your spirit, and your desire to be happy, say be petty, will petty you need to be!

Black Church: It is Time to Put Up or Shut Up
Since the election of Sunkist Hitler, it seems folks are losing their collective minds. What is even more disturbing are the number of people being passive and trying to get along, and with the let's just accept that he is president, mentality. Meanwhile, Sunkist Hitler is filling his cabinet with white nationalists, people unqualified for their positions, banning thousands of Muslims from this country, ICE are conducting raids in six states, and North Korea and China are ready to nuke us, but yes, let's just getting along with the 70 year old toddler.
But the most distressing thing is the silence and passiveness of the church. Last week, Tina Campbell, one half of the gospel group Mary Mary wrote a love letter to Trump, about how she was praying for him and how Christians need to practice love, yada, yada. This is the same Tina, who smashed her husband's vintage car after he cheated on her....I wonder where was this loving spirit then?
Then there is Donnie McClurkin who on yesterday posted that we need to support Sunkist Hitler and stop resisting..what Donnie? Oh, like you are resisting coming out of the closet sir? (Okay, that was a low blow, but Jesus loves the truth!).
When I think of the church and what it should look like in these perilous times, I think of Dr. Rev. William Barber, Raleigh minister, President of the NC branch of the NAACP, and organizer and founder of Moral Mondays. His leadership, voice, and refusal to remain status quo, have been a beacon of hope. More church leaders and anyone who calls themselves Christians, need to follow his lead.
Prayer is great and life affirming, but Jesus calls us to be doers and putting faith into action. Because while you are praying, Sunkist Hitler, is trying to take us back to the 1950's, and I for one, believe that the God, who I serve, wants a more abundant, prosperous life for me! Hallelujah somebody!

Please Leave Barack and Hillary Alone
It never fails, as Sunkist Hitler better known as you'll President Trump (he will never be mine, and I rebuke that contrary spirit, which says otherwise) leads us to the brink of World War III, as our economy hastens toward The Depression of the 1920's and 1930's, as race relations head back to the 1950's and 1960's Civil Rights Movement, each day I see at least one post asking where Hillary and Barack are; well, I will tell you: they are private citizens. I need for you to repeat that three times, one for the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, so leave them alone.
Barack gave you'll 12 years (two terms as POTUS, four as a state senator) and over 20 years as a community organizer in Chicago! Hillary has given you over 40 years (12 as First Lady of Arkansas, 8 as First Lady of this country, 8 years as a NY senator, 4 years as SOS, and over 20 years practicing law focusing on the impoverished and disenfranchised). Let them rest! They have served well, long, and let them flourish.
When we had both fighting for us, we did not appreciate them. To the know everything, woke blacks, Barack was an Oreo, Uncle Tom who didn't do enough for blacks. For Liberal whites, his hope and change, didn't come fast enough, so they reverted to their subtle racist ways. For Conservative whites, his black skin and him holding the highest office in the country was enough to send them reeling. And then there are the sane Americans like myself, who realize that despite his missteps and imperfection, his heart, mind, and decision making were always working for the greater good of our fellow citizens!
To the know everything, woke blacks: Hillary said superpredator back in 1996, so that made her racist (rolls eyes), she was the same as Trump, and she only pandered for black votes. To Liberal whites, they didn't like her because she chose to stand by her husband when he cheated on her, she didn't place white people's needs ahead of other marginalized groups, and she got rich by giving speeches (rolls eyes). To Conservative whites, she was a woman (and according to their Bible, and their white Jesus, women belong one of two places: in the bedroom or the kitchen, but never in charge; oh, and she liked niggers, which were strikes two and three).
So despite Hillary and Barack warning you for over two years, you voted third party, you told lies on Hillary and Barack, or you stayed home, and now we have a 70 year old toddler to contend with.
But Amerikkka built this, so it is up to us as "private citizens", the sane ones of us, who recognize that there is no such thing as the perfect candidate, but just the one with the least imperfections, the sane ones of us, who vote not because we "like" someone or because they promise us free stuff, but because we look out for our fellow citizens who may be seriously screwed if the more flawed candidate gets in the chair, which is the predicament that we are in now
So leave Hillary and Barack alone. If they choose to fight with us, all well and good, but if they don't, they have long fulfilled their commitments to us. Instead, focus that energy on the people in office, whose salaries your tax dollars actually pay, to do their jobs, and to protect the interests of all citizens, and not the fairer skin, wealthy types!
